Anyone knows how to clean correctly the K&N air filter. I know it's washable but that's all!

You can buy a special K&N filter cleaning kit. Sorry I dont know where from or how much but I know you can get them, personally that would be what I would use... _________________ Dont blame me I am still new at all this......

B & C Express, £10.63 http://www.bandcexpress.co.uk/cgi-bin/bc_page.pl?cat=FIL-RD-MAINT. How olds the filter cos unless you use it in really dirty conditions it will only need a clean at the usual service intervals (6000miles). Be carefull not to over oil it as well cos the bike will run like crap. |

Non.
Lewis dont try to clean the K&N filter with a common
cleaner.
The kit of K&N does a wonderfull job, cleaning the filter.
It worths the money spending. _________________ Carbon-aramid

Agreed, I only clean the K&N filter on my TL with K&N's own cleaning kit. _________________ If it's broke, whack it! |

So last question. How often do you clean your filter?

Roughly about every 6000 miles depending on the style of riding you do. If you go off road alot maybe sooner....
Hope this helps _________________ Dont blame me I am still new at all this......

Mine has 12000 Km so far without cleanig, and it still looks OK. Thinking of cleaning and oiling it though in the coming days. |
