Just wondering if anyone on here had fitted a jack up kit on their bike??

Any improvement? Positives/negatives?

Cheers.

Parker had one on his they are also called dog bones, I thought his bike handled great and you could really throw it into the corners but I have also heard from some people that really didnt like them, I guess its one of those things you have to try it out for yourself.... Laughing

Can anyone explain:

What are dog bones?
(I assume they are something to alter the distance between pivots to raise the back end - but where do they go?)

Why does raising the back end improve handling?
(I can see how it improves ground clearance, but not cornering ability, for example.)

Does raising the back end make it harder to climb on? (Oops sorry, wrong thread.)

Cool Cool Cool

These are the jack up plates:

And here's them fitted to a R model:

I don't know much about them but anyone I know who has them on sportsbikes say that it makes the bike turn in quicker to corners... I think alot of people do it for the improved rear end look. Twisted Evil

Thanks for that TT.

Given that, even at a smidge under 6 foot, I find the XTR's seat about as high as I want, I think I will leave those alone for the time being.

By the way ....

If anyone starts posting under my name, but the spelling's totally cr@p, it will be my black dog - the real one. He got interested when someone mentioned dog bones, and he's been lurking round the puter ever since. I think he might know my password and he gets the cat to do the typing. He's wicked - I'm out at work all day, and when I get back my browser history is full of URLs like hotnakedpoodle.com and howtoblagtheremainsofthesundayroast.com. Just a heads up.
