|
|
Hi guys
I got my Kappa luggage rack and boxes last week. Got them fitted to the XT and thought I'd post some pics.
I already had a Givi top rack and 50l box but needed to take a lot of clothes and kit to work everyday. Since I use the XT as a workhorse I needed to expand the luggage options.
The Kappa rack is identical to the Givi one (and about 10% cheaper) and the boxes are also similar spec but cheaper.
Side profile of the full set:
Rear profile of the full set:
Front shot of the set (excuse the mufflers but I like to keep my pinkies warm :
and lastly the racks which although not removeable like the SW motech racks, they don't look too bad left of the bike:

They look really really good, I thought with Givi style side boxes they would dwarf the bike but they dont at all they look as they have always been there....Thanks for posting those pics as I am supposed to be off to France again to visit the inlaws and parker wants to go on the bikes with the children so I would need extra luggage and they look fab... Thank you _________________ Dont blame me I am still new at all this......

You can get the smaller slim boxes if you want something a little more inconspicuous (not sure of the spelling!).
The boxes above fit a lot of gear but state a limit of 10kg each. When I have the three boxes full it makes the front a little flighty but still very rideable around town. |

Yes, they look well. The curves match the bike's profile well too. I was wondering about some hard luggage. These might be on my list. _________________ XT owner again - it's just an older one, that's all |

Thanks,
I had to get them to get lots of stuff to work - could have bought a small second hand car for the same price but where's the fun in that
Next on my list are some heated grips (miss them from my old bike) and something to make the seat comfy over long distances. |

Nobby, I'm from a country as warm as yours - South Africa. Living in the UK now has taught me a thing or two about keeping your fingers and toes warm!
You cannot believe how good heated grips and muff can be at -5C! |

Funny, that. Having ridden bikes through UK winters from age 20 onwards, I never need gloves going outside in the cold. I must have developed brilliant circulation in my fingers. I haven't had cold hands this winter - and that's with 10 years out of the saddle. _________________ XT owner again - it's just an older one, that's all |

sorry black dog, missed your post last night.
The side rack and side panniers were £308 total (just over £200 for panniers and under £100 for rack). The Givi Boxes alone are almost £300 and just over £100 for the rack. Only diff on the Givi boxes is the combination lock access to the top of the case but racks are identical.
The top box is Givi as is the top rack. That was about £70 for the rack and under £100 or the box mate. |
