i have a guard on my bike which i had to take of because it made some horrible rattling noises it was thin metal, do they all make this noise, or can you get better quality ones

It shouldn't matter what make it is, sometimes the bolts become loose and the best thing for them is lock tight, I know mine went loose and to be honest still are but it only rattles now and again so I just put up with it...

The rubber grommit has gone on yours ladyp i will drill the bolt and re do it.

I had exactly the same problem where the engine guard was rattling against one of the bolts on the clutch case, filed it down slightly where it was hitting and not a single rattle now, ooh and i stuck another washer onder the front bolt on guard

Mmmmmmmmm carbon. . .i surely like carbon stuff
but
not the right material for an XT....more suitable for SS or more "sport" bikes.

i've seen the carbon guard on an xt and i think they look scrumpshus! i am thinkin about getting one if the price comes down
