hello jim, just read your post regarding luggage.Had the same need for luggage but did not want the bags on top of the saddle or rear rack as I often carry a passengerand need the space.I didn't fancy a tank bag either. So i bought 2 large bags from Hein Gericke for ?40 which are soft and fasten together with straps using velcro. these straps you put under the saddle and then you fasten off the bottem of the bags to the rear foot peg bracket using cable ties and the other end to the bolt that keeps the exhaust shroud in place.Works really really well as the shroud protects the bag from heat(doubtful with after market exhaust) have had the bags on the bike for a month and they have become a permanent fixture as you can get loads of gear in and still carry a passenger.I am going to try and paste a link from photo bucket,my 1st attempt so don't be surprized if you get me on a beach in Benidorm...cheers Jim

I'm definitely interested !!
Looked into the touratech and metal mule racks and luggage but they're a bit pricey for me. And after reading the Adventure motorbiking handbook thingy i was thinking of making my own but my fabrication skills aren't that hot. Are you thinking of making your own boxes?
Feel free to PM me with any of the costing details. |

I may be interested in the paniers if you could send a photo
I bought the Yamaha top box and rack but it isn't very big and I need somthing bigger for riding with a pillion
Did somone say you could fit the Givi top box to the Yamaha plate? My Givi monokey box does not fit the Yamaha plate or is there a different plate you can get? |

Givi normally sell a universal adaptor plate(plastic with metal brackets)that should come with the box.You can buy them seperately from givi to match your box(monokey or monolock).Just fix it to your rack and then the box fits straight on.I had mine on a rentec rack for fazer.
Check ebay out, item no. 180000817002 for a good example. |
